About Me

My name is Wael Al-Sallami, born April 7th 1988. I'm a software engineer from Iraq. I graduated with a Bachelor's in Computer Science in 2010. I'm currently working on my Master's at Texas A&M. I'll be graduating in 2014.

My experience is mainly in web development. I've done backend work in Ruby, Python, and PHP, as well as frontend work in Javascript, using the widely used frameworks on both ends.

I came to the United States for the first time in 2010 by means of the "Iraq IT Interns Program", and again in 2012 through the "Iraq Scholars and Leaders Program" scholarhsip.

I've worked with Square as an intern and, as the first engineering hire, I helped Stylitics grow for two years before I left for graduate school. I've also worked as a lab assistant for a CS class on web development.
